This year, holidays have a much deeper meaning for me and my family. My wife and I celebrated the birth of our first child. So today, more than ever, I have much to be thankful for.
For instance, I know that I get to send my daughter to school to be educated. And not just any school, a great public school–Rockwood School District–for free. There are countries in the world where girls do not get that privilege. Just reading a story like Malala’s, who was shot by the Taliban for being outspoken about women’s rights to education, can make you appreciate what opportunity we have here in America.
Our Country is not perfect but living here means we have opportunities and liberties many other countries don’t. I am so grateful for the chance to choose my lifestyle, run my business, and live with my family without fear of harm.
We have these opportunities thanks to brave men and women who serve in our military. It takes an incredible human being to risk their life for another without being asked or offered an award to serve .
So, Veterans, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
